Step-by-Step Guide to Using the Gardening Journal in Seedtime

1. Introduction (0:00-0:29)

  • The Seedtime journal is designed as a central hub to record all your gardening notes, observations, and images in one place.

  • Say goodbye to scattered sticky notes or relying on memory, and start using this streamlined tool.

2. Creating a New Journal Entry (0:29-1:20)

Steps:

  1. Click the green plus (+) icon at the top of the journal page to create a new entry.

  2. Fill in the details:

    • Title: Add a descriptive title for the entry (e.g., "Growing My Cabbage").

    • Date: Default is set to the current date, but you can select a different date if needed.

    • Comments: Write your observations, updates, or notes (e.g., "My cabbage starts are doing great!").

  3. Optionally, attach an image to the entry:

    • Click the image upload button and select the desired photo.

    • Images will be displayed in an easy-to-view lightbox format.

  4. Click Save to add the entry to your journal.

3. Editing and Deleting Journal Entries (1:20-2:15)

Editing:

  1. Select the journal entry you want to edit.

  2. Update the title, date, comments, or add/delete images as needed.

  3. Save your changes.

Deleting:

  1. Use the menu icon on the top right of the journal entry.

  2. Select Delete and confirm the deletion.

4. Searching Your Journal (2:15-2:56)

Steps:

  1. Use the search bar to find specific entries:

    • Enter a keyword (e.g., "cabbage") to find all related journal notes.

    • If no matching results are found, the system will display a “no results found” message.

  2. Refine your search further by using exact terms (e.g., “starts” vs. “start”).

5. Filtering by Date Range (2:56-3:21)

Steps:

  1. Select a start and end date for your filter (e.g., August 1 to December 31).

  2. View all journal entries created during that date range.

  3. Cancel the date filter to return to viewing all journal entries.

6. Upcoming Features (3:21-3:38)

Future Enhancements:
