Step-by-Step Guide to Using the Task List in Seedtime


1. Introduction (0:00-0:05)

  • Learn how to use the task list in Seedtime to manage and track tasks for your garden effectively.


2. Overview of the Task List (0:05-0:24)

Features:

  1. Automatically compiles tasks from your calendar based on your garden plan.

  2. Displays:

    • Overdue tasks (tasks not marked complete from past weeks).

    • Current week’s tasks, with dates listed for easy reference.

  3. Can be viewed on a week-by-week or day-by-day basis.


3. Filtering and Sorting Tasks (0:24-1:21)

  1. Use filters to show or hide specific task types:

    • Example: Turn off "Cultivating" if you don’t need it in the task list or calendar.

    • Start Date or End Date.

4. Managing Overdue Tasks (1:21-2:43)

  1. Navigate to a previous week with overdue tasks using the date selector.

  2. Mark an overdue task as complete on the date it was actually done:

    • Example: If you seeded cabbage on March 31 instead of the planned date, mark it complete on March 31.

  3. Seedtime automatically adjusts the planting schedule in the calendar based on the updated seeding date.

    • All subsequent tasks (e.g., harvesting) will update accordingly.


5. Recording Past Task Completion (3:00-3:46)

Steps:

  1. Go to the week or day the task was completed.

  2. Select the task (e.g., seeding tomatoes) and mark it as completed for that specific date.

  3. Return to the current week to mark additional tasks as complete.

  4. Check the calendar to confirm updates:

    • Completed tasks will appear grayed out, translucent, and struck through.


6. Harvesting Tasks (4:11-5:16)

Steps:

  1. For crops with multiple harvests:

    • Click on a harvesting task and choose:

      • “No”: Marks the task as partially complete but keeps it active for future harvests.

      • “Final Harvest”: Marks the entire harvesting period as complete.

  2. Adjust the harvest window in the calendar:

    • Set the start date to when harvesting began.

    • Set the end date to when harvesting was finished.

  3. Use this to maintain an accurate record of harvest periods.
