Overview
All right, are you ready for the next big release here? I need another drum roll, and this is one that we teased quite a bit in the emails coming up to this, and that is Records and Analytics version one for your seed time account.
Accessing Records & Analytics
Okay, so let's take a look at Records and Analytics. I'm going to jump back over to seed time here, and I'm going to switch over to my garden from last year because I went in and manually put in some records from what I had actually done this last year, and you are going to see in your menu a new module here, a seed time for records, and we have actually kind of blended records and analytics together into one module, okay?
So I'm going to just put this for the last 12 months because what I did is I went back to my actual harvest records from last year for the month of October here, and I inputted them into seed time so that you could see this live at what you could see.
What Records & Analytics Tracks
So what's going to happen here is inside Records and Analytics, you'll be able to easily track the value of your garden based on what you're harvesting out of the garden, and we make it extremely simple and easy for you to do that.
So you're going to see on the left-hand side here there's a summary. It's going to show you the total value for whatever date range that you set, the total harvest, how many pounds you've harvested, your average harvest, the top crop, your best harvest, number of crops harvested, and your harvest streak.
How many weeks in a row have you had a harvest? So my harvest streak in October last year was three weeks in a row. We missed one week because I think of travel.
Viewing Records & Insights
Then you're going to see your records, your actual records here, the history of records. You can drill down into each record, and I'll show you how you can make those in a second here.
And if I scroll down, you'll see a bar graph of your weekly harvest, so you can see how much you're harvesting across the season and across the year.
And then a really neat circular graph here of your harvest by crop. So I can see I did 21.5 pounds of tomatoes in October, 12 pounds of green beans, 10 pounds of kale, 7 of peppers, 5 of Swiss chard, et cetera, coming around. And so I could set specific date ranges and see that graph based on them.
Adding Records Manually
And then the actual fun part, actually entering the records, right? So you can come and you can add a record in here.
So if I was going to add a record for a crop, you will choose what planting. So if I was going to add a record for kale, I could choose what planting and year it's going to be. So let's just say it's the kale of 2026.
This would be if I'm manually adding a record in. We are building into seed time default values for each crop. So I could say I harvested two pounds of kale and at a $3.44 value.
But you can adjust this for yourself, and you could say in my area it's actually $4 a pound, and you can save your own value as a default for the crop. So you can just keep track of crops based on your value for your area.
You select the date it was harvested on, and you can create a record for it, and it will drop it in. That is the manual way.
Adding Records from Tasks
But this is also tied directly into your task list. So when you come over to your tasks and you come down and you click, I harvested my parsley down here, it will pop up.
And all you need to do is say, is this your final harvest? No. And you can enter the amount that you harvested.
I harvested how many ounces? I harvested six ounces of parsley. You can click this to change it to pounds if you're measuring in pounds. So you can choose whether you're putting it in ounces or pounds.
And then you can complete task, and that is going to drop into your records as a parsley harvest.
There we go. There's our parsley and kale from this year. These are just the two records I just created right now for this year.
Understanding Your Garden’s Value (ROI)
And what that does is it allows you, once again, to track your harvest value so that you're actually seeing the ROI that you're getting out of your garden.
And I think that I have a hunch that you may not recognize how much you're actually growing. I'm sure most people don't.
This last season, I would not have known that I had grown $2,000 worth of food out of the entire season without actually tracking it, right?
Mobile App Integration
And the really cool thing with this as well is that – let me pull this up here. One second.
Is that in the mobile app, we are rolling this out into the mobile app as well.
So when you are in seed time in the mobile app, there will now be a records. This is coming very soon where you can update the app to get this.
But you will be able to have a records tab directly inside the mobile app, and you can see these records there.
Logging Records from Mobile
Right now, you can add records through your task list as well. So if you come to the task list and you come down – I'm just going to redo this parsley one here again.
You can enter the amount. Is it your final harvest? Yes or no.
And you could say I did five ounces and complete it, and it's going to go into your records for that crop there.
So we're rolling it out into the mobile as well, which is really fun. So you can keep those records on the fly out in your garden.
