GreenStalk β Assigning Crops & Seasonal Rotation
Adding a GreenStalk to Your Layout
So here's how it works. You can click and drag it into your seed time layout. So let's say I wanted to put it on my back patio porch here. Zoom in closer. Don't you just love the icon? I mean, it makes it look so much nicer.
And then once once it is there, you can click edit and you can change the color. So if you have a specific color Greenstalk, you can change it out to lemon or green or pink or stone, whichever one you have.
You can choose whether it's a three tier, a five tier or a seven tier Greenstalk planter.
Purchasing a GreenStalk
And if you don't have a Greenstalk planter yet, you can shop Greenstalk planters in the Seedtime store.
You go in and you grab your Greenstalk right there in the Seedtime store.
Setting Up Your GreenStalk
Once you have it set to what you want, let's say mine's a stone five tier. You can click apply.
And here comes the fun part to add crops to your Greenstalk.
Assigning Crops to Pockets
We have created a new system where you can open up the pockets of the Greenstalk and it has its own panel for the pockets.
And then what you're going to do is you're going to open up the crops timeline here and you can come and take, for example, this arugula and you can drag it down just like you would to any other planting location.
Drop it into your Greenstalk.
And now it's going to say click a pocket to assign arugula in your Greenstalk.
OK, so I can come along and say I'm going to grow arugula on this tier in my Greenstalk and it will sync with the timeline just like any other crops.
Timeline Sync & Visualization
So as you move forward and backward in time, you will see it disappear and appear in your pockets just like you would with any other planting located inside seed time.
Adding Multiple Crops
Once it is assigned there, you could come down, you could put something else in here as well.
So if I wanted to put some beets, I could drag that into this pocket panel as well.
And I could drop in some beets down at the bottom and you could move forward and you could say, OK, my beets are done.
So I'm going to put basil into my bottom row here now instead of beets.
Seasonal Rotation
And this is how you can keep your Greenstalk going throughout your entire season.
Because what happens with a lot of people is they start out and they plant their Greenstalk and they have a nice harvest in the spring, but then they don't know what to do with it next after those crops are done.
And so with seed time now, you can put your crops into the pockets, you can see when the crops are going to finish and you can be ready with another crop that takes its place coming along next.
Editing or Replacing Crops
And then if you decide you need to switch something out, you can come down and click the unassign button here.
You can come back and you can unassign crops from a specific pocket and you could go and you could assign something else to that place.
Multiple Crops in One Pocket
If you assign something, two crops together, they'll kind of stack like this.
And then when you hover over them, it'll tell you which crops are in there, arugula and baby greens.
Feature Highlight
And so, yeah, this is super exciting because from my understanding, Tom, and we were just talking about this earlier, we are not aware of any other garden planner out there that has this type of functionality to be able to plan a Greenstalk or even any tower garden like this, really, and be able to see all of the pockets, plan exactly what's going to be in each pocket and take it through the year.
